Jordan’s brother flew in on business last week and we were able to spend his birthday with him. He arrived late Friday night and met us on the Venice Boardwalk while we grabbed a few drinks with Jordan’s Myspace colleagues and we ended up having a great- and long- night.
I digress.
So, for Drew’s birthday, I decided to put together some south-of-the-border style appetizers for us to munch on.
We had some chips and “Green Stuff Salsa,” homemade 5-Layer Dip, a hollowed-then-stuffed baguette, and some chocolate covered raisins and watermelon sours for good measure. (I REALLY like watermelon- I couldn’t resist)
Jordan’s friends Landon and Bill joined us in the festivities, which was good because there’s no way we could have eaten all this food!
A close-up of the dip…
The self-inspired, Mexican-stuffed baguette… (Black beans, refried beans, tons of cheddar cheese, sour cream and jalapenos stuffed in a previously-hollowed baguette)
And last but not least…
After an ear-piercing rendition of “Happy Birthday,” Drew’s Cookies and Creme Ice Cream cake. It was….divine. (Thanks Holly!)
After all was said and done (and by done I mean eaten…in entirety…) we all fell into a deep food coma, rendering us paralyzed in front of the TV watching the Everest Mini-series for hours… and hours.
